I went and saw Brokeback Mountain with Luke & Sarin last night. It was really beautiful, but it didn't make me weep or anything like it did a lot of people, so I left the theatre feeling like a robot even though alot of elements in the film hit home.

Today was nice - I skipped my first class of the term and compensated by overdressing. Just kidding - there's no such thing as overdressing.

I had to use the library's research tools for the first time ever today. I asked the guy at the reference desk for some help on finding phonetics journals, and he was SO FUCKING HELPFUL. Like he pretty much gave me a guided tour, complete with jokes and stuff. All by himself, just to help me! Honestly, he's so kind and looks like Father Time/Albus Dumbledore. It is truly great to have people like that at a school like McGill, where so many people complain about bureaucracy.
