House Buying News from deanne

I went back out with my realtor today to the area I want to buy in. We looked at the 1 bedroom loft again. It has a fatal flaw - the only bathroom is in the loft bedroom. Karl was off today so he came along and fell in love with it. He just heard back from the realtor though and he would have to take a huge loss on his condo to get out of it so no go (whew, didn't really want to be neighbors). Anyway my realtor took me to see a couple of 2 bedrooms which I really liked and THEN a 3 bedroom. This thing was huge and while it needs some work it's really perfect for me! It's owned by the bank so it's in as is condition - needs new carpet througout and all walls need to be repainted but other than that it's adorable. And did I mention it's huge? 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 2 car garage!! They're asking way less than it's worth so I started the process today of getting pre-approved. I talked Gordon into buying me out of the house. I made him an offer I knew he would go for so that I could get my hands on some cash now and told him I would still help him get it ready to sell (he's going to borrow from his 401K to pay off my car and buy me out of the house. He doesn't have any cash - he's spendy while I'm savey). So with that cash I can get it repainted, carpeted and hopefully get new appliances. I'm so stoked.

I love this area it's in and I love this place - all of the townhouses in this area are really cute. It's on an end (which with only 3 units there's 2 ends and a middle so the odds are good) and the walls that are shared run along the stairs. No real part of the house joins the neighor's walls. So cool!
