My lender called me this morning to tell me my loan was approved. They wanted a few things from me. They wanted proof that I don't owe Gordon anything so I had to go back to that scuzzy county clerk's office and make copies of the separation agreement and divorce stuff. They wanted some kind of proof that I'm in business which is an odd request. My business name registration wasn't enough. They would have preferred some sort of letter from a legal professional - like I have an attorney or an accountant. I'm small potatoes. He said they would probably take an ad so that was easy. I just started advertising in the yellow pages in a nearby town from which I'm trying to get more clients so I sent him a link to the online version of the ad. And finally they want a letter I've been waiting 2 weeks for from VW. Gordon had a car that I cosigned on but he traded it in basically the day after we decided to split. It's still showing on my credit even though the last time it shows any activity was July 06. So it looks like other than getting my ducks in a row I'm going to be a homeowner. Part of me almost hoped this wouldn't go through just because it's scary but the other part of me desperately wanted it. Glad that part won :)
I have a date tonight. A guy I met through match.com. He lives way over in Colorado Springs a good hour and a half away but hey. Summer's coming and I want someone to do concerts and things with. He seems like a nice guy so we'll see!
