It's advent. I adore advent. I adore advent in the way that Tood adores Lent - only not at all. I haven't found anything to make our pole purple yet but maybe soon. I did buy purple and pink candles though. Our party will be will the kick of pink week. Or rose week rather. Really it starts the next day BUT I am going to church at 5 on the 10th because I am reading so it means that pink week starts early.

So last night the power went out, it was soo cute. I just sat there with like 1000 candles playing cards and listening to music, soo relaxing.

After using twice the amount of dye I should have needed to get black candles they are still deep violet. It is an awesome colour and it would not be frustrating if they were not per request. I adore black candles but arg! They are near impossible to get truly black. Originally published at
