Finally figured out why I haven't been able to connect to the machine at home. It's updating DynDNS just fine, and DynDNS is still setting a 60 second TTL, but for some reason nara's DNS is holding an old record for another 177597 seconds - no idea where it got such a high TTL. Oh well, let's hope all returns to normal in two days time.

My web server was down for most of yesterday.  Apparently Comcast has finally taken over for Time Warner, as my IP address changed drastically.  Now that I have updated the DynDNS with my current IP, everything seems to be working fine.

Say goodbye to this short lived, unpopular LiveJournal. I shall be moving my blog to "www.anbo.moddedhosting.com." I plan on changing the URL to something shorter with DynDNS, but that's it for now. The site is under construction so don't expect anything real.

As of Friday, August 18, 2006, I have resigned my position with DynDNS, and my majority stake has been re-purchased by the company. I am no longer affiliated in any way with DynDNS. I wish Jeremy and Tom, as well as the entire company, well on their further endeavors. DynDNS has great potential, and I expect they will continue to provide excellent DNS and related service for a long time to come.

Настроил службу DynDNS, но похоже моим провом фильтруются либо ICMP-пакеты, либо порт который их принимает. Но DNS-запись моего компа обнновляется. Похоже придется настраивать туннелинг((((.....

я забыл самое главное - в макосе по дефолту можно подкрутить dyndns. как и все остальное - одной кнопкой
