So I'm getting ready for work and the TV is on in the background and an ad comes on. It starts out with a line about a "new fiber" and in my mind I'm thinking "modal?, tencel?" and then realize the ad is for a dietary fiber.
My name is Jan and I'm a knitter.
And I think I need a fiber fix.

We went to see the Whoreshoes last night at the Iron Springs Pub. The music was great, bluegrass with attitude. They are an all-female band. Everybody sings and it seems like everybody plays 25 instruments. Check them out!
I heard about the Whoreshoes because Lala

Success on the natural dye front! The rose hips didn't seem to be giving much color, so I went to the grocery store and found annatto seed, which gives a bright orange. The hemp cloth is now a warm earthy orange, and looks great. Now I iron it and make it up into something.
I'm not really pleased with this cloth. It's been washed four times, and is still not very soft. The silk noil is coming, as is a

Today I have a Merino/Tencel blend with bling on the ol' Woolee Winder. 85% Merino, 15% Tencel with bling. I absolutely LOVE it but it's taking forever to spin this itsy, bitsy 4 ounces because I am spinning it very skinny. It spins like a dream and I thing I am going to purchase some undyed Merino/Tencel blends to dye up for my store. This one is from Copperpot on Etsy. It's absolutely

Hard going at first with the merino/tencel. I was spinning too thin and adding too much twist, and it kept snapping. I've got it down now, though. I was going to work on my Fleece Artist merino, but...the new stuff called to me. It called hard.
Now Good Eats is about coffee! Yaaay.
Coffee.
My merino/tencel colourway is called Biscotti.
