Time to record the drum tracks for the 20th time...
I started a track in GarageBand based on an idea that I had (and captured on my QY100) while on a recent trip. The initial idea sounded like mid-tempo fare, so I set the project's tempo accordingly. But the song turned into something more upbeat.
At first, I was using the pop drum kit in GB for my percussion. It sounded very dull. Then I di

I made someone's all time s3m hits list! The attribution ("Hornet") is wrong, but I'm on a list along with basehead, necros, and purple motion.

I have two items available:
* Roland JP-8080 * Roland MC-505
Both are fully working with all controls intact. The MC-505 has some display problems. Power cable and original user manual are included. If you're interested, reply here.

The sky was quite brilliant during my evening commute. It had a lot of purple overhead, and colors of rust were near the horizon. There was a bit of rain, too. The rain was fitting for my mood - a favorite coworker had his last day today. Fortunately, he's leaving to take what sounds like his dream job, so I'm glad for him.

When I left the office, I could barely speak coherently. That was the result of me finally fixing a major bug that I've been chasing after all week. I wanted to do it all on my own, but I'm glad that I regularly talked the problem through with a coworker to discuss my assumptions and plans. It kind of amazes me that a description of my internal visualization of a problem actually works for someone else, and leads

I realize that many of you have not seen me in a while. To remedy that, I was getting my digital camera ready tonight and trying to reasonably light my living room. I sat down at my computer to take a break, and then realized that I could do much better than my camera possibly could.

My new midi controller keyboard arrived today! It doesn't have a bunch of whacky buttons and sliders and knobs and crap; it's all about the keys. But don't take this to mean that I have any playing skills. When someone at work asked me about the product, I explained that I consider myself an arranger rather than an instrumentalist.

I recently started a project in Ableton Live. It just consisted of short sequences of some samples and loops that I had sitting around. But I liked how it sounded, so I've been polishing the project to make it more complete.
I started out with some drum loops that I hastily arranged with Groovelab. I purposefully made the loops with the low-fi sample rate of 1
