So how silly is this. I took yesterday off work "to go to the flower market." Obviously the flower market isn't an all day event.

You think if I was smart I would've taken a friday off. Or both. I could totally be doing stuff at home right now, and not just playing harvest moon either.

So one thing about having your electrical wiring inspected that's really good is that it forces you to sit

I know what 27k a year feels like, and what it can afford. The family says it anticipated a 2k/mo bill and not a 3k/mo bill. Let me tell you, 27k a year can't even buy you a 2k/mo bill.

Who are these banks to even say 50k/yr income can buy a 350k house?!?!? If that's the case, then I should be able to afford a nice 250k house.

Goals...

http://eightbt.livejournal.com/201982.html

A lot of my life revolves around lists and goals. Lists of tasks, and the goals they accomplish. So not surprisingly, my leasure time is also organized into lists and goals.

One goal for this summer is to build at least ONE Adirondack style patio chair completely from scratch. Well, okay...I might have to buy wood from a lumber store, I don't exactly have trees to cut down and mill.

I still want to see the video for myself. Just because I'm perverted and think sites like steakandcheese.com are funny.

I also think the psychiatrist is illuminating some pretty serious issues with the profession. Like how they wouldn't have done anything for Cho even if he was brought to the ER ranting and raving

Eat my dust Bob Vila

http://eightbt.livejournal.com/201257.html

I installed two new overhead lights in the living room, on a three-way switch. And the place didn't burn down!!!

So now the trick is to re-arrange the wiring for the entire house in segments that I can do in a weekend. The problem is the house is basically wired into five circuits. Two are dedicated circuits for the washer/dryer and stove. One is for all of the outlets in the kitchen, and the dishwashe

Life lesson

http://eightbt.livejournal.com/201027.html

There's a lesson that I always seem to have to re-learn every so often, and that's planning. Always always always perform an adaquate level of planning, which for me is almost always knowing step by step everything that will need to happen.

Things I did this weekend:

  • Attached a new dryer exhaust pipe, with a anti-rain and anti-bird guard.
  • Broke three bits in the process. One from dropping

How not to wire your home...and other adventures

http://eightbt.livejournal.com/200733.html

Things that even I know:

  • Plastic boxes do not need to be grounded.
  • Outlets are required to be grounded using the little green screw.
  • The little green screw isn't an extra screw in case you break one off.
  • Reading instruction booklets are a good idea.
  • Installing a dishwasher in any which manor you feel isn't acceptable.
  • Giving a hallway light a circuit breaker all it

Mortgage Slave

http://eightbt.livejournal.com/200356.html

It's official. Actually it's been official for a few days, Josie and I have just been insanely busy. The house is a Single/Detached Ranch style house, slab foundation, 3 bed, one bath, 1008 sq ft. The yard is triangle shaped because the house is on a bend. Unfortunately, the small part of the yard is the backyard. I know I know, all you care about are pictures, but they'll come in time.

And now, even
