I've only been out in the canoe a few times lately. It will soon be time to put it away for the winter. I was out today for a while. It was so quiet that I could almost hear the falling leaves hitting the water.
I was a little disappointed that MMP was defeated so handily. That probably means that voting reform won't be raised again in Ontario for a long time.

A forestry/conservation guy came by today. I was thinking about planting some trees down by the river. He said I could do it if I wanted, they pay a portion, but the small meadow I was going to cover was just as important ecologically as a small stand of trees would be. Just a short ride today. I had to spend half an hour picking up what was left of the canvas gazebo we had by the river. A freak windstorm had turned it upside down and flattened it right out.

Today I got within about 10 feet of a beaver feeding on some water plants. I coasted in and it didn't notice me for at least a minute. Usually they are gone in seconds.

I just got back from the river. I found a narrow channel that seems to lead to somewhere but it hasn't been dredged for a while (it seems) and got too shallow to get my canoe through. I'll have to try it in the Spring when the water is deeper.

I can't believe 6 years have passed since the WTC event. I sometimes wish we could go back to simpler times.
On the other hand I upgraded my computer memory to 2 gig today so I could play with my newest toy, Adobe Creative Suite 3.
