Look at me, all up in the "morning". Especially with DST, it feels weird - been a long time since I've been exposed to sun angles like these. Like the day is just beginning. It's nice. Of course, for most people, the day is already well on its way - when my alarm went off, it was followed closely by the sound of the groundskeepers... operating some sort of machinery. Almost as if to say "if you were thinking abo

I was going to write an entry about how I at least got up at noon, etc. That's what my alarm clock said. But, my computer clock says something different. How is it already Daylight Savings Time? Doesn't that usually wait until Easter? Oh, I know they changed it... last year? The year before? But I'm still incredulous.

climbing
My whole day is off because of the debacle this morning with regards to sleep. Good old jet lag. Relatively little to do with the preacher (or whoever he was) knocking on my door, really. Regarding today's dream, "To dream that you are shot, represents a form of self-punishment that you may be unconsciously imposing on yourself." Heh.
I've got one part

climbing
I climbed ALL DAMN DAY. Well, first I went to work, checked out - felt just a little sad. No tears were shed, though.
But then I went to Carderock, and from 3 until ~6 (sunset anyway) we climbed. I did my first lead climb, took my first lead fall. I also learned to rappel. I did the stupid 5.8 of stupid and I did the 5.7 featuring the "jug of awesome"... at least 3 times, including the time I lead i

dreams
Last night I had a dream that I was hiking with my family around Hudson's bay - in the summer, thankfully. But suddenly I had to get back to No. VA - to complete some courses so I could re-graduate from High School? But I was missing a bunch of days, being in Canada, and that meant I would fail a bunch of classes automatically. It did dawn on me that I already had a diploma and a degree, but somehow I still needed

Well, I'm feeling better - partially because the post-sleep "I'm just getting warmed up" feeling is gone, partially because I won a game of PG on BSW, and most of all because of today's market shenanigans. ABK is getting bailed out.... well, maybe.
Anyway, during the early afternoon/morning slump, I increased the length of my position - which did nothing in particular, until around 3, when it shot up. Th

From the Winter Storm Watch issued for our area "THIS STORM COULD BE A HIGH IMPACT EVENT...WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW AND...OR ICE ACCUMULATIONS. LATER FORECASTS WILL MORE SPECIFICALLY PIN DOWN PRECIPITATION TYPES... TIMING... AND AMOUNTS."
But on the upside... I'm not going to work tomorrow. KEKEKE.

climbing
So... courtesy of Mark and Rachel, I finally got outside. I did my first climb. Beginner's Crack, a 5.4. I also hopped on a nearby 5.7 before rain drove us off.
In the middle of February... even!
Oh, and applying a tiny little bit of logic (so that only reduced the render time from 20+ seconds to <1 second. But only barely < 1 second; I want to tweak a little more...

BOOOO. Rt. 7 is apparently a parking lot already, I'll be here until doomsday =\.
Update: Treated roads okay, untreated roads presumably bad, untreated sidewalks slipperier than deer guts on a door knob... however slippery that is. Also, when driving down rt. 7, it rapidly iced my windshield before the car warmed up enough to defrost it =\. Be careful out there!

Race For The Galaxy - I'm hooked. That I went 1-2-1-1 in 4 player games didn't hurt. But overall, it feels like the game San Juan should have been. The synergy, it is a beautiful thing. It's not in your face with the competitiveness as PR is, giving it a much "lighter" feel... But it does not let you get away with bad play at all. I had sort of thought "eh" because it was a card game, mostly because I felt rath
