Just back from a fabulous visit to Angkor.
Siem Reap is a town of contrasts.Super deluxe five star hotels a stones throw from wooden shacks that the locals call home. Two hungry young boys shivering from the cold taking shelter from the rain in front of a swanky french style bakery (complete with free wifi!) Ancient temples built in the 9th - 12th Century gaining fame from Hollywood tomb raiders.

It has been a while. Hit that milestone where the authorities actually classify you as "elder".Hmmm...
So much has happened since that last post.
Had a great series of events to mark the milestone.Party with a bunch of friends...dinner with near and dear....ended with a surprise trip to resort complete with spa and relaxing massages. If this is how the next four decades are going to be I dig

Watched the Aussies swim to a Games record in the 4 x 100 medley. Great stuff!
Just wondering: what is it about Singaporeans and their inability to support their fellow countrymen in anything? I mean there are those that care a whole lot about NBA players in Chicago or football teams in North London but cannot say anything good about Singaporean participants in any sports. Don't cheer them if you do

Greetings from London. It is bloody cold and wet.. Watched Arsenal play Bolton yesterday.Awesome to have been able to soak in the whole football atmosphere...lifelong fans and smell of greasy chips and booing the Bolton team as they arrived and the smell of greasy burgers and fans packing the merchandise shop...all elements of football today that you do not get on ESPN Premiership Saturday. My adventur

It was that kind of day - customer walks in and asks for stuff he has reserved weeks ago. Executive decision had been taken to put stuff back on display for sale. Customer was not too happy and made fact quite clearly known. Then - proceeds to request that items are kept in reservation for another two weeks! To top it off sends an email the following day detailing the events (of course blithely leaving out b

That time of year is here. Personally it marks 15 years of what as been for the most part a hugely satisfying time spent making a living doing what I enjoy. In the process I have forged friendships. For that I am very grateful. Lately though the nature of the job has turned me caustic. There have been days when I actually taste the bile at the back of my throat at the end of the day.I have gained a reputati

I've always thought that what made us human was the concept of consideration for others.Exercising choice cannot exclude that.

On Sunday past a great bunch of people met up for lunch to compare notes on twenty years passing us by. I had a great time observing the effects of life choices...and their by-products.
I left lunch venue slightly depressed but nothing a completely unnecessary purchase of a blk razr v3 couldn't cure..

To add to the ongoing choice discussion - what price does one need to pay for choice? see bedzonefor a more eloquent view. The problem with the concept of choice involving real people and feelings is that not everyone can use it responsibly. Perhaps now I understand better the reason why some in leadership even considered giving more votes to those who can us
