I thought we already did the leap-ahead.

I was messing around around 11:10pm. And then I look up (well.. down) and it's 12:30. Uhh... wtf?

The explanation comes in the form of a phone call I got at 11:50ish. So... the time really did pass.

Blech.

That bothers me a little. I don't warp into time bubbles that easily; I'm usually annoyingly aware of my procrastination.

The legend says St. Urho chased the grasshoppers out of ancient Finland, thus saving the grape crop and the jobs of Finnish vineyard workers. He did this by uttering the phrase: "Heinäsirkka, heinäsirkka, mene täältä hiiteen" (roughly translated: "Grasshopper, grasshopper, go to Hell!"). His feast is celebrated by wearing the colors Royal Purple and Nile Green.

I am deeply bothered by the fact that cultural boundaries make it veritably impossible for my insight to pierce some things.

In other news, I ought to write about Saturday, but I predict I will end up postponing it ad infinitum. Meh.

You'd think people have learned to clean off the Spear of Destiny by now. Melt it down into a liquid pool of bronze and such. *shakes head* Other than things like that, paranormal stuff would be That Much more Sensible. =P Which is why demonology is such an enjoyable pursuit.

love

A good hypothesis is falsifiable.

My dislike of monogamy is not whim. I charge that it's grounded in fact, and that data can be gathered to support it. However, I do not think it can be gathered in my lifetime.

Here's what I anticipate, in full, glorious detail:

1) Average lifespans will continue to increase.

1a) We will hit a plateau where the human body itself is incapabl

Crisis

http://raccaldin36.livejournal.com/1623089.html

Yesterday, I lost a massive post I was in the middle of writing. While thinking about it this morning, I realized it gave me some insight into how I handle a crisis.

1) Deer in headlights. Disbelief. "Did it really happen?"
1a) I wonder: if there had been something for my hands to do and a larger panel for my eyes to wander, would I have gone over it? I immediately created an analogy, this morning, to

You whom I loved like an unnamed flower,
plucked too soon, I will tell them of you as I
seek your shifting image and again remember,
beautiful companion of the irrepressible cry.

You few, playmates of childhood long gone,
among the scattered gardens of the suburbs
how we discovered one another, so shyly fond,
speaking to one another without words
