Grappling update

http://yellow-wood.livejournal.com/68500.html

Yesterday I grappled with my instructor for a while, and it was even more awesome than usual. It is incredibly weird because he hardly does anything at all. I am wasting myself by trying to move around or get a hold of something, but he just positions hmself incredibly well, does a little bit here and there, and fully dominates the game without any fast or aggressive moves. It's like punching a wall of pudding

It's like a good, old monkey knife-fight. With a ball!

I saw Projekt Gold yesterday, the damn best movie about handball there is. It foollows the German team the World Cup, up to winning it by kicking ass throughout.

It is fantastic, go watch it now!

L-bow!

Seems like I overdid it a bit with the push-ups last week, because my left elbow started hurting quiet a bit. I rested it over the weekend, but today's grappling class didn't help. I will keep my workouts free from any pushing stuff for this week and hope that it calms down. Otherwise, I will have to replace it with a bionic arm that with a freakin' laser attached to it.

Czech? Check!

http://yellow-wood.livejournal.com/65634.html

OK, I'm back home. I arrievd this afternoon in a completely full flight from Prague, being seated next to a businessman who was so nice as to ignore my outdoorsy flavour. First things to do after two weeks in the country - shower. Long, hot and relaxing. Then - food. Later - sleep.

My friends are staying for a week longer and will hit the mountain range tomorrow. It will be fantastic. Czech country, though

Whoo, holidays

http://yellow-wood.livejournal.com/65406.html

I am right now sitting in an internet cafe in a tiny Czech town and fight an uphill battle against the weird keyboard layout. It is 0948 and the dude sitting next to me is already downing his breakfast beer and invited me along. Such friendly folks here. I enjoy myself tremendously.

We hit the hill country for a week and then took an easy day off to wash clothes and bodies and to have some real food for a

Things not to do #354

Have a hard conditioning workout in the morning and then donate blood in the afternoon. Bad idea, really. After getting up, I took a couple of steps when things started to get white and I dropped. Pretty freaky stuff, this has never happened to me before.

"Sorry for the inconvenience"

http://yellow-wood.livejournal.com/64432.html

Today I took the subway and there was a delay in the service. There was an announcement, it ended with "we are sorry for the inconvenience". This annoys me to no end.

If you are sorry for something, be sorry for having fucked up, not for the inconvenience it caused. Being sorry for making the mistake means taking responsibility, not doing so makes it seem unimportant and unavoidable, downplaying my negati

Book - very rough rap on The God Delusion

http://yellow-wood.livejournal.com/63581.html

I finished reading Dawkins' The God Delusion on wednesday and enjoyed it. Dawkins' main point is that he considers the belief in god irrational and silly and also finds organised religion harmful.

The books starts out great, the first chapters focusing on the god hypothesis and the resulting explanation and debunking of arguments for god's existence are strong and entertaining. Towards the end, where he c
